This class is taught by Xcel Energy who will talk specifically about our area, how they manage the power grid, reasons when they might need to call a "Public Safety Power Outage," along with these other topics: 

• Creating a family communication plan and backup power solutions.
• Managing critical appliances and medical equipment during outages.
• Resources of where to apply for assistance for generators for critical medical equipment
• Identifying local resources (warming centers, emergency shelters).
• Safety around generators and alternate power sources.
